Default Cam and Converter Install ?'s

First off, what is a really good lube for the the cam. I am putting a TSP Comp 224/224 .581/.581 on a 112. Also, what are some other methods for installing it. I am probably going to use the dowel method because it seemed to work fine when putting in the ls1 cam. Also, best method and tool for installing the springs. Didn't have last time. I am on a budget so please be easy on me. ...What oil should I run after the cam swap. I would really like to start running some royal purple but people told me to stay away from synthetic when installing a cam like this. I really didn't think it would matter but figured I would ask to make sure. Of course, I am going to change it a couple hours after I run the motor to get rid of all of that lube from the cam. Next, what kind of tranny fluid and how much am I going to need to fill up the converter and tranny. It's a 4L60E. And finally, what about proper break in for everything. I want to get it tunned as soon as I can because I am anxious about seeing some numbers for the $$$ that I spent.

Just use motor oil for cam lube..its a hyd roller not a flat tappet all thats needed is a thin coating of good motor oil. I like the valve spring tool that takes both springs off in 1 shot I forget who makes it though...i believe it's Matco. The tranny will need 2-3 quarts to refill the converter if I remember right. Synthetic oil is fine to use if you want...

Crane/Vinci makes the valve spring tool that sonoma43 mentioned, it is by far the best tool out there. It's not the cheapest, but definitely the best. Charge the cylinder with compressed air and a fitting into the spark plug hole to hold the valves up, then go at it with the Crane tool.

Your not talking about synthetic in the tranny are you? Some people have told me yes and some have told me know. I really just want to put something good in it.

Ok. I will. Thanks guys. I'll need about 12 quarts right? Also, does anyone know of any step by step with pictures of someone installing cam, springs, and converter. I am also going to need some torque specs? Does anyone have that info??? It would be really appreciated....

You might need to paste the entire link. It can't have a (...) After (forums/). It needs the entire message. I really appreciate it though. Everyone on here has been extremely helpful.
