I've spent months reading about cam choices here, well really ever since i joined. And starting in like 3 weeks my poor denali is getting stripped. Engine, trans, Front Driveline, and Rear Driveline removed and rebuilt. Of course a few parts are going to become "missing" in the process and with all missing parts must be upgraded.
No real changes to the drive line, other than i'm thinking of getting a Yank 3000 or 3200 lockup converter. My 4L65E will be undergoing preventive surgury and hopefully i'll get around to calling FLT tomorrow to get the skinny on new parts.
Anyways, back to the topic and hand. Its heavy, its fun, and its my toy. It needs a new cam. This one struck my fancy for its RPM Range, and i'm somewhat bias towards buying Lunati internals as they are one of the few that still makes their forgings in the USA.
Cam Card (PDF)
Duration at 0.050: 222 / 228
Gross Lift : 0.567" / 0.567"
LSA: 113 / 109
RPM Range : 2000 - 6600
I have a set of LS6 springs i plan on using, as i understand this would be the absolute limit of the LS6 springs as in term of Lift without coil bind.
Suggestions guys!

ls6 springs are maxed out at .551 so i'd go with some 918's and the top end of that cam is pretty high with 222/228 but with your stall it should work out just fine, good luck on all your new parts and fun

I have read that the late model 2003-to end LS6 springs (Green ones) we're certified to 0.600 lift with 300lbs of force.
Well i'm gonna stick with the LS6 springs for now, pending furture research...
The alternative with sticking to a Lunati Voodoo cam... Would be to downsize to this cam.
Duration @ 0.050 212 / 218
Gross Lift: 0.531" / 0.531"
LSA / ICL: 113 / 109
RPM Range: 1600 - 6400
Cam Card
But i think most would say its too small for a 6.0L, besides the first one i pointed out would do very good once i get around to putting together a 408..

Yea i already got the LS6 springs, i'm trying to put something together thats a little less maintainence intensive than what i understand about the 918's.
But theres still time for me to change my mind. Until i can find another source, Summit wont have that cam instock until the 23'rd of this month.
But that wont matter too much as i doubt i'll be finished all the planned work.

IMO, especially in the lift department, that cam would be too small for a 6.0l many people are unhappy with their first cam choice anyways, i have a 204/218 LS6 and i love it dont get me wrong but as i am doing it all over again i would certainly go bigger than that cam you have listed in my 5.3 DD, stick with your original
