Default ...And the cam is in...

Well the install is complete. The PCM is having some trouble learning the idle. It keeps wanting to stall when I come to a stop.

BUT...

On the freeway it's a different story. This thing smokes now. When I was coming back from the install last night, I had been driving for about 1/2 hour when (in short) me, an 05 or 06 Mustang and a GSXR all happened to wind up next to each other. The motorcycle kept ******* the Mustang and the guy finally bit. We all got on it at about the same time and the motorcycle was just screwing with us, but then finally twisted the throttle and he was a speck in seconds. So that left me and the Mustang. He either wasn't getting on it all the way or it was an even match because he wasn't pulling on me. I let off at 110 and he kept on...whatever I'm not running above that.

Anyway, I am very happy with the results. There's more of an increase than I thought I would see. And that's before the tune...that'll happen next week. This thing should sing after that...

It depends on your experience and tools. There are some specialty tools to line parts up when reinstalling, a good spring compressor is needed, air/airtools, etc.

If you have all of that stuff and are comfortable ripping that far into an engine, go for it. If you have any doubts, I would pay someone. It's definitely not a simple procedure if you've never done one.

Cam installs are a piece of cake on these motors.....as long as you have a harmonic dampener puller, a good torque wrench, and a torque angle gauge you'll be fine
