I was just wondering if anybody has, or has seen any solid dyno numbers of the K&N FIPK vs the new style Volant vs the AEM vs a modified stock box vs whatever. We hear alot of folks opinions about what they're using, (which they've already spent their hard earned cash on), and read alot of manufacturer's claims stating gains UP TO x amount of HP an TQ, but haven't come across a real, non-bias comparison. Now I know that different set-ups will act differently on different vehicles, but I'd love to see something done on one vehicle where they try them all. Does anybody have any info on anything like this?

Honestly you will be hard pressed to find substantial gains from a CAI. The stock air box does a good job. I think you would be better off with a stock replacement K&N and call it a day. If you do anything, the UPD is a nice set up that replaces the intake tube and lid.

One of the magazines just tested a AEM brute force and got 16hp just from the intake on a 4.8. I have one on my 5.3 and I'd be hard pressed to say i got that much. I did feel something and I like the looks and sound so I'm happy. They also tested the Volant(old design) and lost power. The FIPK did really well too but I can't remember the increae.
