i love my upd...i like the looks and design of the volant intake. its the only other intake i would put on my truck.

IMO its between volant, outlaw, and GMPP

im sure they all provide the same gains but they look the best to me


for the best gains, get one with a closed filter element

for the easiest maintenance get one with a dry filter element, not oiled

ya maintenance aint a prob, i got a drop in now that needs oiled so no biggie with regard to that

i agree on the closed element filter. mine is closed with ram air to supply cool air instead of hot under hood air. no need to pull a headlight at the track either

gmpp, volant, upd, or do like l33 mentioned...replace the intake tube, replace the filter and use a circle saw to cut a hole through the bottom of the airbox and plate below the box. then a piece of pvc about 1 foot long through the hole in the bottom of the box to pick up cool air from below the fender well...looks clean and is as functional as any other intake on the market for alot less money. then the saved money goes towards longtubes and ory where youll actually see a difference.
