Gray in color, only at WOT or first thing in the morning. A little over 2 quarts per oil change. Yikes.

Personally I would avoid additives like that as in many cases they have been proven to cause oil aeration.

Check for leaks and do a compression test.

No leaks, and will do a compression test asap.

Is this a AFM (displacement on demand) truck? The AFM trucks have had issues with oil consumption, more so than non-AFM trucks. If it is AFM the consumption could be from blow-by past the rings. The pistons tend to get extreme amounts of carbon build up causing the rings to stick resulting lots of blow by. This could be enhanced by the oil squirter as well. The AFM lifters have also contributed to the oil consumption issue. The PCV orfice could have an issue causing oil to be pulled into the intake. There is an updated valve cover to supposedly solve this. Pull the throttle body and check for oil in the intake. If there is more than a light film of oil in the intake, I would start with the easy fixes first, such as pulling the lsft valve cover and checking the orfice and surrounding area for any signs where oil could be pulled through into the intake.
