Default Built Trany Q

well...since my lovely 4L60E decided to give up 3rd and 4th gear today and has slowly been deteriorating away Im bout to order me a Level 4 built one from Performance Auto and trans Center up in Bossier, La
Here's the link if anyone wants to check it out.

But my question is.....what speed stall would you guys recommend? Normally I would say like 3000. But the owner told me that us blown guys have stalled theirs up to as much as 1500-2000 rpms more than rated! So im thinkin maybe get like a 2000 and see how that works. What you guys think?

I would not buy a tranny from Transmission Center if i were you. Do a search on them here or in the tranny section you will see why. They sell pretty good parts, but thier trannys arent too good. "They cant even fix a sandwhich" lol. Spend the extra $ and buy a FLP or a Rossler.

Don't even waste your time with a 2000. Stock is 1600. It won't stall 1500-2000 more with just a radix. A Radix and good sized shot maybe. I'd say go with a 2600 at the very least for great street manners. Or a 3000 for better performance. I would say the radix will make you stall 200-300 more rpm's.

THere were some pretty harsh things said about them a little bit ago. Talk to some of the Shreveport guys, I think maybe TigerFan-something had some dealings with them. There seems like tehre was some shady stuff going on where the law was frequently visiting them or something too.

I'd go with about a 3k stall converter.
