Default Built a stronger flywheel

Since no one has a aftermarket flywheel. For those of you who have run into the same problem as me. I ended up buying two stock flywheels and cutting one of the flywheels outer teeth off. Then i welded them together and had them balanced. I will let you know how it holds up.

So now you have a flywheel with two inner sections welded together? Cool deal, let us know how it works out.

I think TCI is coming out with a SFI certified flexplate soon but, as of now it's not out.

Hughes is also making a SFI flywheel. He said it should be out in about a month, which usually means three. I couldnt wait though.

Did you cehck with Scat? I think someone was telling me that they may have one. I don't know if they would have one for the LS1 flavor engine though.

Will the torque converter slide back far enough and not jam into the pump gears?

I checked with TCI. They said that they dont have one for our trucks yet, but they also plan on making one. And yes i am worried about the clearance between the two. With my last converter i had a lot of room to adjust. But now that i got the yank i dont know. It is only going to offset it about an 1/8 of an inch. I am pritty sure it will have enough clearance, but i guess will see.
