im not joking, my truck stock has about 320 HP and the chip i put on added aproximately 30-40 HP, the DiabloSport added anywhere from 25-30, and the exhaust added about 20 HP, the filter added about 12.5 HP, and i can spin my tires from 20 MPH all the way through 50 MPH im not joking about my 400-410 HP

looking to build my 01 GMC Sierra Step-Side, i currently have a power chip on the engine, a DiabloSport Predator, Flowmaster 44 series cat backs, and a K&N Filter. I am getting a GM ASA Camshaft, Polished and Ported Trick Flow Heads, Shorty Headers, Sniper NOS kit, and a throttle body spacer. I'm running about 410 HP right now, and plan to get about 700 and ideas???

I'll try to help the guy out. He might just need some learning.
Every vehicle has drivetrain loss. Your stock 2001 5.3L was rated at 285HP at the flywheel from the factory. You typically see 20% drivetrain loss on a truck. 285 divided by 20% is approx 228 hp at the rear wheels. So how did you double your hp without doing any internal work or add FI or nitrous? Just trying to help you out here.
So basically the only thing you did was add the programmer to the truck. The flowmasters don't add hp just sound and they are a restrictive muffler as it is. Flowmasters do sound good though. A cold air intake will pretty much add no power on a stock truck, you might of gained ~5hp.. With the handheld you probably gained another 10hp.
Take it to a dyno and get it dynoed, then you will have your base numbers. After that keep modding your truck until you are happy.

Lets give the guy a chance to be receptive of the information being presented, everyone comes to this site with a different knowledge base. Everyone on this site could learn something from someone else, if you are not aware of this then you have allot to learn..... if that makes any sense. haha

buying the parts form summit while chosing the "by make" filter wont get you to 410hp , when I was a noobe like you now, I was going to change the pistons and leave tha cam alone LOL
am still a noobe but I'll listen to those guys all have expreince and proven mods and projects with validated dyno/track numbers
