Default break in procedure?

what is a good break in procedure for the driveline of my '04? I know with my bike it had a rigorous break-in schedule that had to be followed. When is a good time to change the oil for the first time? Should I go synthetic?

Drive it easy for about 1500mi. I still hammered it everyonce in awhile.

I put mobil1 in after I hit 3000 mi.

I would not floor it before 1000 miles.

Drop the hammer right out of the lot. (that's honestly what I did)

Probably not great on the drivetrain, but from my experience it's better on the motor.

Drive it like you stole it.

I added the Supercharger at 234 miles and have been beating the crap out of it since.

I agree with these guys you didn't buy a car you bought a TRUCK. Now treat it like ones!!!! Be a man. Oh yeah I changed my oil at 500 and went with mobil 1 synthetic. Good luck with it.

Don't be afraid to run it hard. These truck are so detuned from the factory, you won't hurt it a bit. Do a full LOF change at 1000 miles. Do another full LOF at 3000 miles and then at 6000 switch to synthetic, Mobile 1 or AMS Oil. You can run the Mobile 1 to 5000 or 6000 miles, or whatever you feel comfortable with. An oil change is the cheapest maint. you can do and will save you tons in the long run. I have my 6.0L on Mobile 1 and I run it very hard. I programed it to run 6200 RPM from the original 5500 stock and don't use a drop of oil between 5000 mile oil changes with Mobile 1. I'd get a cold air intake and exhaust right now, but wait untill you switch to synthetic to program it. Once you have all three things done, you will know what I meant by it being detuned from the factory!!!
