Borla tips changes sound?

Borla tips changes sound?
Ok a friend of mine tells me that if he puts borla tips to his current exhaust setup, the tips are gonna change the sound?? His exhaust setup is pacesetter LT's, magnaflow X pipe, 2 borla mufflers with 2 tailpipes exiting thru stock location. IS THAT TRUE??? I think thats 
BTW thats in a 00 GMC RCSB with 6.0
