Default Borla or Magnaflow I really can't make up my mind...

This has been eating at me and I really can't come to a positive conclusion. I am going to be buying a set of Flowtech shorties and matching y-pipe w/ cat and go 3" and take it out the passenger side before the rear tire. My dilema is should i go with some sort of magnaflow, if so what size/series? I am pushing toward a Borla XR-1, but both ways i can't find anything similar to get an idea what it will sound like. Right now the truck has a single 3"in/dual 2.5" glasspack going out the back. Nice smooth sound but its about toast and needs to go. I am really looking for a "tuned" sweet tone thats still very aggressive and doesn't sound like a tractor. Its hard to put into words ahha. Truck has a basically stock 5.7 TBI. Any help is greatly eppreciated. Thanks in advance!

I'd take borla never herd it but I dislike the magnaflow that I have, I also wouldn't get the flowtech shorties, I put them on my truck and couldn't keep a gasket and my first set warped

Have a magnaflow but I think I'd swap to a borla xr1 to see if I would like it

ok, I have Borla and it's a love/hate relationship.
At idle it is pretty meek, yeah it has a definate "I got something" sound but as someone once described sounds like a fart in the bathtub
Get a bit of throttle though and my truck sounds like a big bore corvette drag car. I have 3" true duals, hi-flow cats to X-pipe and reduced into 2.5" through 2 Borla XR1 12" ovals.

I installed the magnaflow kit dual 3 to 4 inch rear exit and it turned out pretty loud. It has a nice rumble at idle, but any hit of the gas and it gets a lil loud and raspy. Maybe I just have to get used to it. My truck is a 6.0l 2500hd with dual 3 factory and magnaflow kit 15732. Got some more power now though. They advertise 20hp/20tq. Paid like 400 for it off ebay. A lot less than the borla kits, but if you want dual exit those look nice.

Now I need to install my efans and intake next weekend or whenever I find time.

I've been wanting to order mine and I was going with Magnaflow but after reading this, I'm not so sure. I HEAR Magnaflow has good flow but isn't as loud as Flowmaster but Flowmaster restricts more flow than Magnaflow. Borla is out of the question b/c I'm definitely not spending that much for a 4.8. But I'm looking for something deep sounding and none of that raspy, high-pitched racket.
