whitt1 - details on the headslease? new or used, what stage, valve size, etc.... I'm thinking about what heads would be good to top off a stroker.

Ben - timing makes a huge difference in power. When my truck feels strong, I'll see upper 20s timing, when its sluggish, it will be throwing out low 20s timing. Thats probably why my olf whipple ran like crap - I could never get anything more than mid-teens in timing with all that hot air it was pushing.

TEA recomended 317 castings stage 1.5 with Comp 978 springs and titanium retainers to go with Comp R lifters I'm running. They said the 1.5s actually outflowed the stage 2 heads. The block is from Keith Craft 4" stroker with JE dished pistons, steel maincaps and ported oil pump.I've also got a set of 1.7 Yella Terra rockerarms.I plan to find out how much horsepower a Radix setup can support, then add a 3300AX to the Radix intake with a 5/8" thick aluminum adaptor plate and shoot for 700+rwhp.

Can I suggest a set of the new rockers HC have come out with? I'm not sure what the real name of them are, but they are called HC rockers on the boards. Nate @ Nasty Perf. sells them.

I've read stuff about the YT's causing valve float because they are porportioned wrong and are heavy.

If you make this work, that'd be cool. I might be interested in something like that.

when did you order the stroker stuff? I looked at an Eagle crank kit in their shop a couple of weeks back. It had SBC rods and JE pistons with about a 17cc reverse dome. You can't beat their price on those goods. Are they going to assemble the shortblock for you?

You probably saw my shortblock. They are assembling the shortblock then I'm adding my new TEA heads and ARP stud kit.Right now I'm trying to figure which injecters to buy,I'm leaning towards a set of Seimans 57lb high Z injecters do you think they will be able to support 700rwhp when I make the supercharger switch.

Hehehe, I got to open your parts before you did. I guess thats a good thing for you as you now know that they did have it in stock. They had a 383 LS1 eagle kit and a 40x iron block getting finished up when I was there. I haven't heard the results from either motor. You said you are getting a 402, but the pistons I saw were 4.03 bore, which makes a 408 with the 4" crank.

Not sure what you need for injectors. Going FI sure does eat up injectors quick, but 57#ers should be OK.

On the LS6 cam "bleeding off boost", as long as you are talking about the '02 cam (204/218 .555/.551 117.5lsa) I would say they [magnacharger, BlownChevy] are correct. I run this cam, advanced four degrees, with my setup and we have noticed a dip in boost -about a pound around 5800rpm before a shift.

That is with the 4.25" (approx. 6lb) pulley on.
Any loss in boost with the 3.5" pulley in upper rpms is belt slip for me I will be tackling that issue soon.

Exactly what I was talking about.

Are you going with a custom tune on this, or not. If you don't plan on tunning, then I would used the first and upgrade later. That first choice is always a good reseller.
I've been told that the second Comp Cam is wasted on an LS1 that didn't have heads done as well - the flow isn't what's needed. Is this true?
