Angry Blew out my passenger side header!!

Was on my way back from Lake Havasu tonight and had started hearing an exhaust leak. Stopped in Needles and saw that the header was cracked where it bolts to the piping. So im 15 minutes from barstow and boom!! Pulled over and sure enought it blew apart all the way. Drove for about an hour and fifteen minutes like this with everyone looking at me as we passed. Could anything have gotten f'ed up? its basically like running open headers right? damn shorty jba's

How long have you had them? i would call jba and see what you can do. Yea, It's an open header, but just on that side. Maybe the bolts got torqued down to tight?

I blew the egr bung out of my dynatechs running it up to 6800 rpms one day. Sounded horrid but drove it home pulled the header welded it up and good as new.
Thought my motor was coming apart when it happened though...loud bang engine noise got insane loud and i could hear the bung hittin stuff as it made it's way from my hood to the back....was not a fun moment and was like WTF till i noticed the nice hole in the side of ym header.
So long as you didn't beat on it i think you will be fine just get it fixxed and don't drive it till you are able to do so.

I blew out the gasket (JBA) at the track when I had the JBA shortys, I thought the engine was toasted! Yeah, driving home from the track was fun...

Might want to make sure you did not destroy one of your cats.......could have caused the "back-up" in the system. I have seen it happen more than once on that drive to Havasu. We had a 6.0 gas truck towing our 25 foot cat.......the cats did not last long at all. Even I would suggest a diesel for towing a boat the size of yours.
