I am looking for the biggest/best cam I can go with on stock programming in my 99 z71 5.3 without idle issues etc..

I would have thought after buying 422ci engine you would know the easy paths to finding parts. Well anyway since your going with a lifted truck Crane Cams has a Gen III truck cam that is designed for torque, .502"/502" 200/200. Compare that to your stock cam .466"/.457 E/I and 190/191 E/I. Otherwise a comp xtreme cam alot of members have had good success with, 206/212 .515/522 is the mildest cam they make you could go a little bigger if you wanted to stretch your limits.

 

Are you gonna change the springs too? If so the Comp XR259HR (206/212/.515/.522/112*) would be great. If not the Crane H-200/295-13 (200/200/.502/.502/113*) would be ok. dang it, fullfloatingHD beat me to the draw by almost a minute.

 

good minds think alike. But the cam selection is pretty straight forward for our motors.
