bigger throttle body worth anything?

Default bigger throttle body worth anything?

is a bigger t/b worth anything in hp or tq? ive got a 02 5.3 with a air intake and exhaust and im thinking of a cam change and long tubes later but was wondering if a t/b would be worth getting.

I wouldnt waste the money on the 80mm. Just get a good p&p one or do it youself.

I like mine! It was expensive but I have plans for a charger so I think the 80mm will help more, later on!
It does a cool vaccum sound also!

I say just port the stocker your self. Not a hard job to do. The stock TB should flow more then enough.

A cat (Paul) over on LS1truck.com dyno'd ~6rwhp gain with his. But his torque didn't go up. I just don't think it is worth it.

I had a extra stock one opened up to 78mm and the darn thing wont work. it goes into limp mode.

how about a 95mm one?to big for basically stock engine or would it help after cam install and headers?

the opening in the intake manifold is i believe 75 mm....soooo putting an 80 mm tb on it should in theory do no good at all. just doesn't make sense

yeah it works...i definitely felt a difference on my old tahoe. Whether it's a cost effective mod is up to you.
