im lookin to put 3" exhaust on the truck and dunno which would be better an x-pipe or a y-pipe and with or without cats (i have no problems with the smog crap, they dont check)

well for the mods you have, 3" x-pipe will be way overkill. don't know about the Y w/ your setup but it's matched to mine...

well i plan to get headers when i do the setup!! well if should do it!! or is 3" just overkill period? really all i plan to do for a while is a new exhaust setup, headers, stall, cam

Are you talking about running true dual 3" exhaust with a X pipe? As for the Y-pipe I think buying a off-road Y-pipe and installing a 3" exhaust would be best IMO.

An ORY and 3" piping is ample for your application. If you later climb to over 400 FWHP then an all 3" + X-pipe would be killer

For now just stick with the Y + 3" sinlge

well see i wanted to start from right behind the cats with a 3" Y then into a 3" magnaflow single in, dual out then turn out in front of the rear wheel with the dual rectangle tips i have now
