...must have more money than I do.
Just take it easy for a while and let the rings, bearings, cam and cam bearings and transmission settle in. Yes todays motors are built well enough to take it but it don't hurt to go easy on it for a while. I do believe in not going the same speed for long periods before 500 miles. If you think GM puts this in the manual as a joke, well you atre on your own. I know lots of people who claim to be smarter than GM who have not made their first million yet.
I have seen sprint and late model race cars do break in procedures at the track. Keep in mind they are not looking for the milage we are, but do not want any spun bearings or holes in the pistons either.
They take a car with a new race motor up on the track and usually in second or 3rd gear they ramp it up slow to a high RPM and then ramp it back down just as slow for several laps monitoring the guages. The bring it in and listen to the motor, tweak it if necessary and do it again untill the like what they see.
You looking for trouble? If so you will find it every time I guarentee it. To bad you cannot sell it for the price of gold.
As for how it will run if broken in slow or fast? I'm calling BS on that. The PCM logs how you drive the truck every time you turn the key off. I believe it stores 10 or 20 logs. TM is effected by your recent driving habits. I know a transmission tech who knows how to run it with the wheels in the air, shutting it off and on, and when you get back in it you will think he installed a shift kit...for a while.
So, if your competion has the same vehicle as you and drives like granny all the time, and you have been sporting around alot, guess what.
So get in the new $34k to $40k truck and just beat the crap out of it and hope it's gonna be alright.

i was wondering what was the best procedure to make it be a fast truck, i heard that when you drive it real slow and never half throttle it or full throttlle it it will be slow. so my question is how should i drive it to be the fastest possible in stock Form.A guy told me to always drive fast during the first thousand miles but , i dont know, Help.
tHank you.
