Best quietest muffler?

i got a 6.0 with cam, bolt-ons, pace lts, no cats, dual 3 inch pipes, x-pipe, dual 3 in/out spintech and that was it...it was loud. i then had tailpipes over the axle and it quieted down. 2 weeks later, i still wish it was quieter so i could install my stereo system back in...

Add some dynomax bullets after the mufflers ,thatll quiet it down .worked for me.

Walker makes some huge mufflers that are straight through and very quiet.

i have thought about these as well. this next month i will be recuperating financially after my engine, tranny swap, etc and will be considering all suggestions......thanx, rob (956) 802-7700.

which way to the tailpipes point? straight back? down? 1 out to each side?

Straight back should be less loud to the driver than the others. Maybe a little more sound deadening material to the interior would help. Sure it will add a few pounds, but nothing compared to the weight of the rest of the vehicle.

I think the "best quietest muffler" would be the one from the factory.

I've also heard of some cone-shaped screens that you can have welded into your exhaust that are supposed to quiet the exhaust down without changing the tone.
