Best place to find 14 bolt rearend?

It sounds like something broke in the 10 bolt, where is the best place to find a 14 bolt rearend from a 3/4ton Suburban?I figure if I can find a 14 bolt add a gear and a Eaton Posi, then bolt it under the Tahoe.

I have seen a lot on ebay, but your local privately owned gear shop should know where to get one, if they are into 4 wheelers and the like. My local gear shop gets 'em in all the time.

Don't forget it's an 8 lug unit. You're gonna have to get 6 lug axles made for it. I dunno if you can get 6 lugs out back and use the 10 bolt brake setup... as I think the 10.5" is a full floating rear axle and the others are semi.

If you're gonna keep the 8 lugs... is it possible to put 8 lug front rotors on your 'Hoe?

I'd ask Neil 6.0 or 1BADHD, they should know more about the HD axles.

You can get a 6 lug conversion for the NBS 10.5" axles. If you feel like doing a little welding and a disc brake swap, you can snag a 6 lug 9.5" SF for the OBS trucks.

Sweet! A 6 lug 10.5" would be killer. How much is that conversion kit?

And where can you get it? I guess you could get some custom axles made too, or would that be more $$?

I have to find it again. Its a very pricey option though......

if you're referring to the late model suburban/tahoe swap, remember that the 3/4 ton suburbans were leaf spring rear and the tahoe/suburban 1500 were coil spring/5 link. considerably easier to just beef the hell out of the 8.6.

Damn, those are expensive I think I can have a 12bolt or 9" Ford custom built for cheaper. The rearend Scream posted on was quoted at $1800,that's to high for a used rearend.
