BEST MUFFLER BACK REPLACE MENT?
#1
JUST DOING A LITTLE RESEARCH BEFOR I BLOW THE MONEY. I'M LOOKING FOR A CAT BACK SYSTEM. I'VE HEARD A SINGLE OUTLET WITH A LESS RESTRICTIVE MUFFLER IS THE BEST WAY TO GO FOR A CLOSE TO STOCK TRUCK. I AM LOOKING TO KEEP THE LOW END GRUNT AND AM NOT REALLY WORRIED ABOUT DRAGGING UP TO 100MPH ON A REGULAR BASIS. WHO MAKES TO MOST POWER,BEST BUILD QUALITY, AND CORROSION RESISTANT SYSTEMS? SOUND DOES MATTER AS WELL. I WOULD LIKE A MORE AGRESSIVE SOUND WITHOUT BEING TOTALLY OBNOXIOUS. IN HAVE SEEN MANY SYSTEMS ON LINE, AND THE CLAIMS ARE PRETTY WILD ON SOME. I HAVE A K+N REPLACEMENT FOR THE STOCK FILTER,HPP3, AND WILL BE MAKING A RAM AIR TYPE SET UP FROM SOME SNORKLES AND INTAKE TUBES I HAVE RECEIVED FROM A PLASTIC INJECTION COMPANY I DO BUSINESS WITH. OH YEAH. THIS SITE IS TOO COOL!!!!

I just installed a Magnaflow catback when I put my FLP headers on and I'm totally impressed with the sound. It's very quiet with a subtle deep rumble at idle but, when you stand on the go pedal it comes alive without sounding like glasspacks.
The Magnaflow I have is a single 3" system with a 4" highly polished tip that exits out behind the passenger side tire at an angle. It's completely stainless so it should last a LONG time. I think I paid about $400 for it. I'll look it up.
This site is pretty good isn't it.

PS - Please take off the caps lock. You'll get more responses with it off. :p

I have the Gibson SuperTruck exhaust and I love it. It is a catback system with two tips exiting in front of the RR tire. Go to gibsonperformance.com to take a look at it. It is a little louder than stock until you floor it. Then its like Holy ****! I have recieved so many compliments its not even funny. Of course most of those comliments come from people who just got finished stomping my ***! Slow truck, but hey your exhaust sounds good.

We may get stomped from time to time but they are still trucks, and damm fast for large vehicles. I cannot tell you how many "80"-"90" mustang owners have been surprised to see me still next to them at 90mph with my 2000 2wd truck I traded in last fall. Fun as hell! Thanks for the feed back on the pipes.
