Default Best mod for $5,000?

OK, with a budget of $5k, what would be my best option for the most power? I have a 2001 Silv, ecsb, 2wd. I want to ultimately go turbo, and I have a spare 5.3 which I could build, then swap in. I was thinking about turbo now, then build the spare motor and install later. Any suggestions? Can I build the spare with more power N/A than what I would have with my stock engine and turbo for less money? If so, what to do with the spare knowing I want to add turbo later?

I say sell the spare 5.3 and buy a 6.0 to build, then after it's built go turbo.

Pretty much what he said or stay w/the 5.3 and go turbo and use the rest of the money for upgrades.

So what's the 5.3 worth? It runs fine, just some light lifter noise, over 100,000 miles. For the price of a lifter job at the dealership, the customer chose to replace the engine.

If the engine had lower mileage, I would say Livernois turbo all the way.
I would have went with the Livernois kit, but decided to go with the Radix for towing purposes.
Therefore, build you a stout powerplant, then go with the Livernois kit.
Good luck!

I agree, go with a 6.7L.
