I hava a 40 series flowmaster with a turn down and it sounds so bad in my truck I had to order a new system. The exhaust bounces off the floor and it sounds like my rods are knocking at WOT. I will never run with out a tail pipe again. With cats it has to be the most horible sound I have ever heard. If you run cut outs at least pipe it out the rear or sides.

You have a freak case crash I know many people that have had great luck with them. I love how mine sound they are freakin awesome I dont EVER cap my cut-outs. Sierracrew has them and loves them 01thunder has just straight pipes after the cats which is basically the same thing and all of our trucks sound awesome. Put them right before your mufflers that is where mine and Sierracrews are at and they sound good. Crash where you messed up at was a buying a flowmaster man. J/K man. I dont know why yours didnt sound good but most people really like how they sound.

I put mine before the mufflers about where the cab meets the bed. I almost always keep them uncapped. The sound is mean and I like them alot.

I'm doing that right now till my new exhaust comes in, and to me it sounds awful and almost sounds like an older truck with burnt out glasspacks on it. So if a cutout will sound the same....than I'm probably not gonna do it. Can anyone tell me if that's what I should expect with a cutout?

I was at the track Friday. Ran 2 passes capped and then the rest with them open. Gained right at a tenth with them open.
