do the SS's use the same setup the 2500's do ???...the one with the 2 3/4" pipe that NO-ONE in the FREAKIN' world seems to make aftermarket !!.....

sorry for the outbusrt but I had to go completely custom from the manifolds back to get a new exhaust system....

to answer the original question....I would probably go 2 1/2" duals with an "X" pipe and Magnaflow Race Bullets dumped over the axle.....if you wanted slightly quieter you could run the pipe all the way back and exit at the rear corners with 3" tips.....that is probably the most free-flowing setup you can get

custom is the only way to go anyways. Its much cheaper than buying a bolt on kit, unless the shop that builds it for you is ripping you off.

Spin Tech makes the kit that i have and they want $500 for it. It cost me $340 to have made at a shop

Go custom. I just finished welding up a new system for my HD. The flowmaster I had was too loud (inside) and the 2500 stock setup I had was too quiet (outside).
So first I welded two race bullets behind the cats for resonators - homemade H pipe - duel edelbrock RPM side by side - duel 2.5 out the back with intercooled edelbrock tips.
I hate that damn 2.75 pipe as well. However, I found its the same size as a 2.5id pipe, like a slipfit end for 2.5od pipe. So I went 2.5 all the way back.

It has zero resonance in the cab during cruise and only a low rumble during accel. At WOT the blower is still louder in the cab than the exhaust and it has the deep, powerful sound outside I was looking for.
