I think that'll be a little big on that engine. I had a 212/216 that worked great on my 4.8

The duration seems big but the lift is small. I bet that cam will run well. With a stall you could probably go with some more lift but I think you'll be happy with the one you've got.

The hot cam is made mainly for sound. I've never seen any nice time put down by one. It is hard to tune because of the lobes they are cut on. Honestly you probably will not be satisfied with it. I would pick up a converter first. You will see bigger gains out of a converter and then you can pick up a used tsp220 or tr220 and have a really stout setup. I had a 4.8 with headers, efans, 8.1inj, tci3000 stall, and 3.42 gears that went 8.80's. I've saw 5.3's with the hot cam, stall and gears that only ran 9.0's. The 220/220 551/551 112 would be a really nice cam that will make really nice power through out the rpm's. The 218/218 would be a nice cam.

Even though those lobes are 224/228 the type of lobes they were cut on make a big difference. You would benefit more from a larger lift cam also. You would probably make more power with a lower duration cam with a higher lift..
