And i mess with shift points and TCC Lockup a little trying to get it just right.
My Tow/Haul locks TCC at 24mph in 2nd and stays locked thru 4th so it doesnt build heat on the back roads towing heavy and pulls a little better.
I may take you up on that!! Thanks, I'll be in touch.

... That is an interesting strategy. I will have to consider ramifications.

I have done near opposite: My tow haul settings all delete TCC lockup, and lockout OverDrive ( upshift to 4th at 255 mph, downshift to 3rd under 237 mph )

Why would you not let the converter lock while towing? That's a good way to build a ton of heat not to mention lose the efficiency gained by locking the clutch up. I can see raising OD to not upshift until higher speeds like 60-65mph but locking it out completely?

I hope he is using it for performance, that's what I did at first. Now I just leave that button off and roll on out. Lol..

Not sure how you use yours but towing 25k# on the back roads I can get my trans Temps up to 250 no problem.
Locking the converter and keeping rpms above 2500 in every gear and trans will barely get Over 150* I have my shift points and lockup set so it never sees less than 2500 rpms and part throttle shifts are between 3500-3700 rpms.
its not set to see 4th gear till 75-80mph.
