airraid drop in filter, irraid mit tube will have the best results. your stock box can flow the 8.1 engine so itll handle your 4.8 with no probs. you can cut 2-2" holes in the front under to help air in also.

The volant intake is pretty good I noticed a difference wen I installed mine. Not much but u can tell the difference. The sound is pretty noticeable inside and outside. Plus u can get a ram air tube. I didnt get it for mine tho.

X3. Airaid Jr Kit. Airaid filters are better. As for intake box, mine had 2 removable panels on fender side i removed to increase incoming air. I personally dont like nor have had need for added air in my lq9 with ls3 heads.

I ran a weapon R, a true flow full intake, a true flow drop in filter, a K&N drop in filter, and a full K&N FIPK. Got my best track times with the K&N FIPK. You just have to be careful when oiling the filter, I ran it for years with no MAF problems.
