So far there hasnt been enough testing for the LS2 intake on a non-ls2 motor and as a straight swap has only proven to HURT performance.

I think so to. The trend is the same for all the other test.

LS1-->Truck-->LS6-->FAST

Yelo - I wasn't bashing what you said or anything so please don't take it that way. I only say that because I thought I heard a hint of disgust in your reply.

Here is another example of the LS2 intake not being what we hope for.

I've also seen good results from the LS2...granted, these were h+c cars, but that's where I'm headed.

General thinking would tell you that the LS2 is going to breath deeper then the LS6. But the problem is you would need to have a motor with a set of lungs to take advantage of it. Big cubes, high output, or boost to take full advantage of it. Swapping the LS2 on to a basic modded, or stock motor has not yielded any power increase and in most cases lost power. I dont think a 5.3/4.8 can move enough air, unless really built to justify it.

that flow test you posted earlier X-cel showed the LS6 clearin 10 more cfm than the Truck from the time the valve gets up in moven till it reaches peak ( i may be exaggerating a bit) but none the less i was impressed.

ls6 intake + the new 5.3 ls6 heads =

I'm not fully convinced yet...I have read and re-read the thread that you referenced, but I'll wait for others to post up their LS2 intake results.

Maybe I took the title of this thread a little out of context, but I read it more as a "truck intake vs. car intake" thread instead of a "will this work on a 4.8/5.3" thread.

I dont really think it's worth the swap until you start going for some crazy HP. For most, your money could be spent on somthing more benificial. On a set up such as Blacksheeps i'm sure it's needed,but he is also making more power than alot of us ever will. The truck intake does get the job done. Look at what Parish is making with his if you dont think it can flow enough
