Default Bend exhaust a little more without kinking?

Hey guys, so quite a while back, i had a single 3" tailpipe ran on my truck. Now I've decided to dump it over the axle. However, when the shop bent up my tailpipe over the rear end, instead of pointing almost straight down after the axle like a stock tailpipe, they made a more gradual bend that is pointed more towards the bumper if that makes sense. Is there some way i could just increase the angle of the bend over the axle without kinking or damaging the pipe?

Might be easier to buy a 90 degree bent pipe from a parts store and weld that on. Not sure how to bend exhaust pipe at home without kinking. I've heard of packing the pipe with sand and using a hydraulic jack but this seems to only work if you want a slight bend.
