Default before I buy ???..

Ok guys ..... and any gals on here ..... I've been doing a lot of research on upgrading my stock 5.3 ..... not looking to run 10's or anything ..... just good smart for the money upgrades ...BUT... still have a few questions .....

this is what I have now:
'09 Silverado w/ 5.3 (LMG) single cab (just over 24K miles on it)
K&N 63 Series Aircharger High Performance Air Intakes 63-3070
MagnaFlow Performance Exhaust Kits 16568

what I'm looking to add (questions I'm asking myself):
American Racing or Kooks LT headers (should I go with 1.88 or 1.75)
FAST LSXRT Intake Manifolds 146602 (should I upgrade the TB to 92 or 102mm)
DiabloSport Predator Flash Programmers U7194 (should I go with the inTune I1000 since the U7194 is discontinued)

As I said ..... not trying to run 10's just liven it up some ..... It's my daily driver

Thanks for your input and ideas .....

what are you looking to do with the truck? if it was me, i would save my money for the lsxrt and put it towards a 6.0. way more bang for the buck and you'll end with more potential.

if you're not ready to step up to a 6.0, put a cam/springs/pushrods in that motor. a stock 5.3 wont really benifit from a LSXR intake IMO. or atleast not as much of a benifit as a cam/tune for the money.

Not wanting to do an engine swap. Just like I said "liven it up some". I don't do any street or track racing for that matter. Only thing I pull is a 6x12 trailer with my H-D Crossbones but, that's on very rare occasions as I ride it before I trailer it. Part of why there's on 24K on the truck to begin with.

The above items total about 2k ..... what would cam/springs/pushrods combo total?

Thanks again .....

I would do a torque converter before doing anything you mentioned. A TC is the best mod and the most bang for the buck.

Custom tune using efilive/hptuners etc from NP, black bear, or other sponsor. $300
3k stall from yank or circle d $400-500
Cold air intake from eBay $60 (no noticeable difference for K&N brand name)
Magna flow muffler $150-200 installed (you really aren't making enough power to justify full cat back)
Pacesetter Long tube headers/ORY $400
220/224 cam kit hardend pushrods valve springs install kit. $1000
Those things in roughly that order will get it done maximizing bang for your buck.

I don't want to sidetrack this discussion, but when recommendations for bigger motors are made is always the 6.0. Why not the 6.2?

typically $$$. 6.2 is a badass motor but a 6.0 can be found on every corner.
