Default beefy cams?

Does anyone have any sound clips or suggestions on a cam to put in my 5.3. I want something that sounds mean and chops hard. Open to any suggestions.

try a tr220 or a 224 cam on a 112. they seem to chop pretty damn good.

something that chops hard would prolly be a 216/220. or i know someone on here i apologize i dont remember who has a 224/224 and he posted really recently saying how much it rocked. i am going to put in a 212/218 which i understand a lot of people really like or you can also get decent upper end power gains with a z06 cam and it will idle totally stock i know you want choppy but sometimes is funner when they dont see it coming hope this helps good luck

i have the 216-220. it chops a little. it is noticeable. the question is do you have a stall, the 216-220 starts to come alive around 2000rpm's. the 212-218 comes in around the same rpm maybe a little lower. the bigger cams will not start pulling till around 2500 abd above unless you retard it. good luck. do a search there are a lot of threads on this very thing with a lot of discussions that will help.

my 226/.535/112 loped hard at 850rpm idle... The truck would actually rock back and forth at a stop light. Still not as much as some of the large split durrations but it made good power.

I have a 218/229 .560 113LSA in my truck and it lopes pretty hard. It really pulls hard from about 3300 on up past 6500.

It sounds mean enough that i was lined up at a stop light beside a older C5 and he said he would be "stupid to run anything that loped like that". He asked what i had done, and as soon as you mention Lingenfelter the answer went to HELL NO.

Tell me about it. I kinda want a huge "Lingenfelter Performance Engineering" Sticker to put on the rear window. That would say it all and i would stop getting so many people coming up to me in the staging lanes asking "WTF is in there?".

It was fun at first, but now its anoying.
