A 100lbs may shave 1/10 sec off of a 3000lb car but not a 5000lb plus truck.

Right, it's based on percentages. It takes a lot more horsepower to drop from 10.0 to 9.0 than it does to drop from 18.0-17.0 in the 1/4 mile. It's still just a one second drop, but 1 second makes up a much larger percentage on the 10->9 second scenario.

Yes, this goes without saying as the faster you go the more energy you need to move the "mass" from point A to B is a shorter period of time and the rate of acceleration needed to make it happen. Adjust the mass or the energy and the equations results will change.

And the all important part of the equation: cost. A one second drop at 18 secs is a lot cheaper than a one second drop at 10 seconds.

I was just tryin' to back you up....stating that 100lbs in a heavier vehicle may not be the same as in a lighter vehicle...but you're on your own now.
