Default Anyone use CC inserts to reduce rasp?

Ive been looking for a way to reduce rasp on my exhaust and came across these. Originally I was looking for high flow cats or bullet mufflers to put in the Y but these ended up being way cheaper (less than half) so I figured Id give it a try and I wont have to cut the pipe, just take it off and rivet them inside and reinstall. Has anyone used these before? I will post before and after videos when I get them installed but that wont be for a few days yet. Just wondered what kind of results to expect.

I've seen dynos with these and it absolutely destroyed the performance. Around 30hp if I remember right.

Man thats a lot. I am willing to sacrifice a some performance for the quieter sound but I hope its not that much. I will let you know, they are going in tomorrow night.

They look like they'll have a negative affect on performance, and I'd be concerned about the rivets loosening up and those things rattling around like crazy...

I agree there will be a reduction in performance when compared to just an ORY but thats ok with me as long as its not too bad. I would think these couldnt be more restrictive than a pair of high flow cats. Heres a pic of a pair I had but ended up not using.

When I used to run a little import car, I had an insert very similar to one of these. Yes, it made the car wisper quiet, but it bogged the car down so bad it wasnt funny. Hopefully you have better results. At least with the cats, all the air is going straight thru, with the inserts the air will be hitting things and bouncing back and trying to find an exit. Thats just my opinion.
