Anyone swapping aluminum 5.7 for 4.8/5.3
I'm really impressed with GMs LS1 powered trucks.
Here is my idea for a low-buck build-up.
Aluminum 5.7 Bottom End, parts put together with take-offs from an F-Body/Vette who is going to bigger displacement.
5.3 Heads, unshrouded/ported, stock 2.00/1.60 Late Model undercut LS1 Valves, LS6 Springs
2001 LS6 Cam
LS1 Edit tuning all the way through.
I'd expect 345 RWHP.
Any comments? Does the motor bolt up when using the correct oil pan?

I'm already in the process of putting this type of setup together. I have the extra heads and am looking for a small block 5.7 to either stroke and cam or beef up and cam for N2O applications. And yes the motor will bolt up with the correct oil pan.

I have a Head and Cam Corvette Motor in my Yukon. Haven't got around to the exhaust yet but it runs pretty strong. Everything bolted right in... Had to use the 5.3 oil pan though...(4x4)
345rwhp will be easy in a 2wd setup....
