Default Anyone recommend a cam for my set up?

It's a 03 5.3. Long tube headers, ls6 springs, CAI, otherwise stock. Emissions not a concern. Computer will be tuned. It's a flex fuel engine so 33# injectors. It will see off-road and street use so the more "usable" power band the better. I was thinking about this one. Any other choices from sponsors?

That cam has almost the same specs as mine, it's a nice improvement over stock and will work with the stock torque converter, but it's very mild by most folk's tastes. If you search this section you'll find that many guys will recommend the Comp 212/218 for a daily driven 5.3. It will also work with the factory converter but would be better with about a 2600-3000 stall speed.

I really like my cam for a daily driver with the stock converter and my 3.73's, it sounds almost stock and was good for a 9/10 - 7mph gain in the 1/4 mile, along with having the PCM tuned for the cam.

Give us a little more info about your plans for the truck...if you plan on changing the torque converter, maybe gears or something along those lines, you could go bigger than the one you listed. Both the cam you listed and the one that I mentioned will work with the LS6 springs

I have a similar 208/214, .553''/.561'', 114* Isky for sale that would probably work well for you. It's a little more agressive profile but still good for a daily driver.

I don't mind changing the converter. Might end up doing it anyway. I just don't want to kill any low end power. A FMRVB 700r4 will back it up and probably going to run 4.56 gears with 35". It'll see life on trails and some rock crawling. Not into the mud stuff so nothing high rpm. I'll drive it to work every now and then.

Thanks, but I think that's too much lift for my LS6 springs. Don't want to put new springs on yet. These are brand new.

No problem. I can get you a 208/214, or a 210/216 ground in .532''/.532'' for a good deal but it will be a little more than the cams I have sitting here.
