Even the stock mustang exhaust has an H pipe.

H-pipe X-pipe LMNOP-pipe

It doesn't matter. The critical elements are the distance from the header/exhaust manifold to the tips and the pipe path (bends..location and number) It is pure physics. Sound travels in waves and bounces off the inner walls of the pipes and we hear those waves as sound. Pulses are generated as the cylinders fire (firing sequence/timing will also influence sound). When the pipes are the same length and shape, that makes the best music. Crossover pipes (X and H) help to balance the system without adding too much interference.

Easy, the pipes cross over eachother between the cab and the rear axle. My pass side engine bank actually exits on the drivers side and vice versa. I have no Y or H pipe. It's a true 3" dual system.

I think another thing that gives the vetter their sound is that the mufflers are right at the back and your hearing the exhaust just as it comes out the muffler I think it all plays a part in it

i really wanna do tips like pitts truck on my ss.. since removing the hitch there is a nice little groove on bottom of bumper where the tips would sit nice. and id like the mufflers to be in the very back also instead of in front axle like everyone runs. but idk

Guys,

The corvette exhaust systems wont fit into a truck, but the key to the sound is the exhaust setup.

My corvette (99 Coupe) is stock manifolds back, to a magnaflow magnapack (X piped) system, in my truck, im using a very similar system, LT headers, back to a H pipe, then magnaflow bullet mufflers, and out. Ive cammed my truck, but the only thing im lacking from the corvette setup is the 10:1 compression.

When i finish it ill upload a link of the sound of my truck running beside my corvette so you guys can hear the difference in sound

i am assuming the x pipe is mounted transverse...
