I am beginning to consider a 2500HD 4x4 with 8.1/Allison. I have a few questions about this setup...

Can LS1 Edit be used on this 8.1/Allison combo? If not, will a Predator work and what sort of shift points would this motor work with?

Has anyone done anything to it to beef it up? Can the stock converter be restalled?

I noticed that the Duramax guys go with multiclutch converter and valve body mods. I don't tow anyting extreme maybe up to a 4000lbs boat but am looking to do a N/A 8.1 now as the advantage of more cubes are very apparent. So I don't know if the Duramax power delivery is the same as the 8.1 meaning I dunno if I need a multiclutch converter.

I noticed there are cams available but they are kinda small around 218/224 .510 112lsa for just shy of 500 cubes. What do you guys think?
