Default anyone ever tried this?

i already have a differnt exhaust on my truck but i was wanderin if u could gut the stock muffler like u gut your cats..im sure it can be done...has anyone tried it? and how did it sound? thanks

I guess you could do like they did on monster garage. Cut open the top of the muffler, gut it, and weld the top back on. I'm betting it would sound like ***, though.

Possibly the large amount of resonance with just sheetmetal for the sound waves to bounce off of. No "directive" sound I guess.

I agree. I can just imagine the sound of my engine through a couple of empty coffee cans. Probably sound like straight pipes with a tinny echo and tons of resonance.
