Sorry to be so dumb, I know there are a lot of posts on this.
What exactly was the problem. Is it related to their intake tube or the box.
I have one of their original replacement boxes and filters from my y2k on my 2004 now.
The orginal kit did not come with a tube from the maf to the t/b, and I've never replaced that tube. Which set up actually had the problem, the box or the tube.
If it's the box, I'll put the oe box back on with a KN panel filter, if it's the tube I should be ok right?

DUMB DUMB....

This is the old design problem. I contacted Volant and got a new one for 125.00
I was suposed to send back the old with a call tag, but never got the tag. SOOoooo, i will keep it for now.

Anyways, There was definitely a difference in design: Box and maf connection is different. Filter is bigger.
When installing the old design, I did notice an increase.
From what I have read the loss on the dyno is attributed to the design of the intake functioning better when the vehicle is actually moving. I.E. air flowing into the intake.

However, I noticed a MUCH BETTER increase with the new design. The design of the connection to the air box and MAF is MUCH cleaner with the new design.

I think the NEW volant is a worthy air intake, and I would recommend it.

Just my two cents

So what you are saying is that the problem is with the original design box [year 2000]not the tube?

Again, sorry to be a dummy, the maf really didn't change, goes right on to the volant box, same spot as oe. Maybe mine is different because it's old but I've installed it twice and it goes in the same spot and fits ok.
Is there an issue inside the box itself that is the problem, I guess that must be what you are saying...
I wish we could test this stuff easily but that's not the case.
