It's my fault because I did the tb coolant by-pass mod. It just sucks going 35 and being stuck at 3000+rpms. It's kinda like its in 1st gear sometimes.

i know mine starts to stick every 3 months or so because of carbon build up. try some TB or carb cleaner, a toothbrush, and a rag to clean all that black build up out of the TB. if that doesn't work, maybe it is the TB bypass mod.

That doesn't sound like a throttle sticking, more like a transmission not shifting.

well i haven't done the bypass mod and Mine sticks. It started to stick last winter, and then I cleaned the flap. Now it's starting to stick a little bit again.

Hey man, I work for a GM Dealership Service and Parts Dept. I've seen this a lot of times. And it IS due to carbon build up around the inner walls of the TB which cause the blade to stick. We, usually adjust the Throttle Linkage screw on the side just a little, to keep from having to charge the customer a labor charge (it only takes about 5 min. to do this). GM has published a Service bulletin about the problem, and a fix for it. Involving a replacement TB if the vehicle is under warranty. If not they advise use of a "throttle body cleaner" and proper cleaning....aka "bull". You can modify it and never have the problem again.

Remove the TB and "hone" out the inside walls of the TB and lightly shave around the edge or the "valve" itself. Kind of like Honing and Polishing a head or cylinder.

I have 2 new still in shrink wrap Throttle Bodies that will fit your truck, I'd sell you if you want to do the modify-repair on either the new or old one. That way you always have a spare bolt-on replacement. I'd take $50 for it. They sell for around $300 new at a GM Dealer.

Later.
