A 04 is $490 with free upgrades for whatever other mods you do to your truck down the road.

My truck was orginally a 4.8, I am running gibson headers which I orginally purchased for the 4.8 and am now using on the 5.7. What I would say if you didn't want to spend a ton of money is to shop around for a used Hypertech Programmer, a 160 thermostat, underdrive pulley and electric fans. If you decide later to swap to a 5.7 or 6.0 you can use everything except the Hypertech which you in turn can sell.

With a Volant cai and 186* stat, I shaved 1.2 seconds with a Wester's tune. The thing is great, and I'm getting better mileage.

See Iv heard really bad thigns about Volant. Known a few people who have had to return theres for "lack of power" and no gains wat so ever. Dunno...Plan on headers soon and a tune just to pep it up a lil. Th for all the info guys. Was most helpful. Does nelson have hand held programmers for people who cant coem to his shop in SA?

Yeah, I've heard that too and think it's been overplayed. I put my Volant on first for about two weeks and it a made a small but noticable difference. If you look at the factory airbox for my truck, it's freaking ridiculous what they expect this engine to breathe thru.

The gains are with the Wester's tune.

With Nelson you get another pcm, He can custom tune for your mods. You just send back your pcm for the core charge.
