Default Any Input on Shortie Headers?

Anyone have any luck a.k.a "any horsepower increase or negative results" on installing shortie headers on a 2003 GMC Sierra 5.3 4X4? Summit has a great price on their signature brand, and boast a good HP & Torque gains. Any input?

their headers are 1 1/2 inch tubes leading from the block...almost all other brands are 1 5/8. their headers are only painted...not coated. for a little more i would recommend edelbrock headers 65022. i just installed those...decent quality, GREAT price, and i dunno about the gains...my butt isnt very sensitive, but i'm sure its about the same gain as any shorty header. no negatives here except i broke my steering wheel buttons and airbag installing them...not because of headers bad, just cause i was stupid and didnt secure the wheel before i unhooked steering shaft.

I'm saving up for some long tubes myself, at which point I will happily dump the shorties. Little to no gain...

I also have the Edlebrock shorties..... But I bought them 2 years ago and if I knew what I did then... I would have gotten the Pacesetter Longtubes.... Almost the same price.... about 50bucks more... and Im sure better gains.......

The main reason I bought the Shorties, is because it doesn void the Manu. Warranty

and another reason to get the shorties is if you cant weld and no shops near you will touch this kind of work because they cant move cats if your car is less than 7 years old or else they get fined big time if they get caught. which is why i did shorties.

Get The Long Tubes. I Belive My Edelbrock Shorties Were A Waste Of Money Now That I Know You Can Get Long Tubes For A Little More

Me too. I hate that they dont make 4x4 pacesetters. Plus I am not going to spend the money that the other companies want.
