Default another "is this the right cam"

03 denali lq4 6.0. Does tow some (but rarely and nothing too heavy) I will get a converter somewhere in the 2600 to 3000 range. (probly a trailblazer converter because of the price) I want a cam with performance benefits that is about as much as tolerable as a daily driver, that wont effect my highway mileage and that gives me as much lope as possible. This is the cam im looking at...TSP 220 220 112 lsa cam what do yall think?

pick one or the other...

From what you said, I would go with a split duration cam that has more exhaust duration than the intake.

Lope is a byproduct of overlap. More overlap = more lope.

However at the same time, Less overlap = better mileage.

k, well im not worried about mileage to an EXTENT...i mean i get like 12.5/17.5 so its not really that great, granted i dont want to lose any of it, but im not expecting to gain anything from a cam swap. With that being said this cam is for sale online in the classifieds and i would like to save the money and buy a used one. Does this cam seem right? would it lope? match well with a 2600 trailblazer converter up to a 3000 yank or something?

did you notice big gains? loss in mileage? did you install the cam and the converter at the same time? would you do anything different? would your 220/224 have more of a lope than this 220/220?

I did mods in the following order:
Gains 2/10=barely noticeable, 5/10=clear SOTP gain
1 - tune, 160, and CAI (3/10)
2 - trans and TC (4/10) 9.7@70mph
3 - true duals (2/10)
4 - cam, UD pulley (5/10) 9.3@75mph
5 - LT headers (2/10)

I would not do a cam before the converter. This is not too much cam for a 6L. If you weigh over 5000lbs then I would not recommend over 224* on the intake. The 220/220 or a 224/220 would be something I might consider since I have free flowing exhaust and the factory intake.

An aggressive 93 tune has left my gas mileage the same at cruise. The TC will be the death of gas mileage. Force your TC to lock early to offset some of this.
