I swapped to amsoil in 08, and have been changing at 25k or once a year since then.
If you don't mind changing your oil more often there is nothing wrong with dino.
As far as synthetic. All of the premium oils are pretty close. Mobil1, royal purple, etc.

prove it... I'm sure there's info out there, throw it up here for us.

I know where I use to work in the fleet trucks they ran 5w30 during the winter and 10w30 during the summer due to the weather affects on the oil at when the engine is cold. had several 1/2 & 3/4 gas trucks with over 500,000 miles on them.

Thats what I used in my Saab year round. Had a air/oil cooled turbo. Nothing ever went wrong oil system wise.

Anything your race or beat on alot you want a oil with alot of zink, its what keeps high stress parts from wearing, the reason most oils are low on zinc is cause it plugs up your cats over time. Vr1 is my voice

german castrol 0w-30, love this stuff, Started with cheap 5w-30 on first start. 10,000 later switched to the castrol.

I would run it too, but it's $13/qt here. No bueno on a DD that needs 6qts.
