Another For Headers Money is No Factor!
#11
Headers are just like anything else, you get what you pay for. The FLP's are stainless steel where the TOG's are mild steel. What do you think is better? Also, I've seen TOG's that were rusted and ASM rust big time, do a search in this forum for long tube headers and you will see pictures of what I'm talking about. Also, see if anyone ever got a SES light come on due to the TOG or ASM headers, the answer is YES. With the FLP's, the answer is NO. I'm not saying they are better because they cost more, I think they are better because they are stainless steel, come with a Y pipe, and look like a quality piece. I personally have never read on here where 1 single person had any complaints with the FLP's, except for the price, which for you isn't an issue. I'm not saying they make more power, they very well may not. But do a search like I said and your mind will be made up. If price wasn't an issue for me, I'd buy 2 pairs and keep one in my family room to look at whenever I wanted to! There have been fitment issues with the other brands, rust issues, SES light issues, etc. If you just want the headers, with no Y pipe, they are like $950 or so, which is what a set of TOG's coated are gonna come close to. I'd get the Y pipe too and that way it is a bolt on job. You are not gonna bolt on a set of TOG or ASM headers. They are both real nice headers, and probrobally what I will buy, because cost is an issue for me. I got kids that want Nike's and **** and I just can spend $1300 for headers when I only paid $1600 for my 6.0L motor, NEW!

Time to rethink things....I had no idea you could get a 6.0 for that.
Where do you buy a 6.0 for $1600?
I was just gonna do a cam and headers this time around and call my truck done for about 6 months till I got the money for the next round of deeper mods. I like to do things right.....so should I consider the 6.0, then go from there on mods? What would you all do?

TOG's vs. FLP.....which has better performance outcome?
Anyone?
Oh yeah, and if someone upgraded to a 6.0 from a 5.3, could the same headers be changed over to the new motor?

If money were no object, I'd go to a proven designer and have them fabricate up a custom set based on my mods and power requirements. I'd get them built with thicker gauge steel and have them ceramic coated. Probably be full long tubes, with a nice long merge and fitted with a ball and socket flange.
They are the same. They look to be nice units, but only come in a 2.5" flavor.
