Default another g-tech story!

i finally ran a new qaurter mile with my 2004 buick rainier with cold air, exhaust, foose 20's and mild hp-tuner crap with a 5.3 all-wheel drive and a dog out of the hole-15.10@102.3mph. any thoughts? this thing is such a pig from 0-20! i'm going to play with the hp-tuner "up dated" version soon i hope. i'm hoping that i could run a mid 14 @ the track not the g-tech. what do you guy's think?

My truck "generally" runs two tenths faster at the track compared to my Gtech. The closest its ever been was when it was mostly stock I ran a 15.12 at the track with the Gtech saying a 15.22 on the same run. I don't trust the MPH for **** tho. Get a converter with that AWD and you'll have something. Any pics of your ride??

agreed get a converter. you'll be loving life having the awd then. if the gtech is close that sounds like a nice time. have you weighed that ranier yet? i am curious to know the weight.

have not put it on a scale yet but specs say between 4600-4700lbs. the hp-tuner up- dated software was said that i could could play with the drive-by wire throttle body. have not done this yet, after 15-20 mph the truck get going pretty good. need some tunning tips on this and timming tables trans, etc... also i do have a trans-go shift kit and all the t.m. gone at least i think so!

That's a really high MPH for the ET but then again it depends on the G-Tech being used.

My old one said I was trapping 113mph in my C5. I went to the track and it trapped 105.6mph. LOL

Agreed. I ran quite a few G-Techs and when I went to the track I was .5 slower and close to 6mph slower. In my opinion, that's WAYYYYY off! For $25 it's a fun tool, but I'd never call it accurate.

Your 102.3 should be closer to maybe, what guys, a realistic 86mph? Cars I've had running at the track in the low/mid 15's would see 86-90mph. Trucks with the same time seemed to be around 84mph. I'd love to see you hit 100mph plus but.....check my sig and see what I ran with about 670 "crank" HP.

Weedo, did you have the same doggie launch before your got into tuning? the hp-tuner 2nd version said this would solve my lag at launch? i had a denali before the rainier and they both have the same drive by wire throttle body. the rainier vs the denali in stock form is faster, and better on mpg thats why i went to the buick for now!
