Default Another Exhaust Question

Is there a "best set of headers" out right now. I have been looking at the LT's that Pacesetter has. Is a "Y" pipe necessary? Right now I have an Intake, Comp Custom Grind 224 581 on a 112. Next step is a TBS and full exhaust. I am just wanting to know a really good setup exhaust wise. I have searched throughout the website and could not find the exact info that I was loooking for. Any thoughts???

"best" is a very relative term. To some, the best means the cheapest and to others, the best is quality. I would say that a set of pacesetters is about as cheap as you can get(I have a set and love them) and the new ARH headers about about as expensive as you can get.

EDIT- With that said, I would get pacesetters if you are on a budget. No a ypipe isn't neccessary, it just makes things easier for use 1500 guys who have a single in single out muffler. Honestly, even with your cam you are not making much power(in the general scheme of thigns). I think you should search around on the site and look for sound clips to see which one you like best and go with that. You aren't going to pick up 20 rwhp on a cammed 6.0L or smaller(yes I know there are exceptions).

Pacesetters will do all you need
You will want the y-pipe unless you have someone that can bend some pipe for you and make one

If money is not an issue then their are other options, but you cant beat the pacesetters

Pacesetter and OBX are the best bang for the buck. OBX has potential fitment issues which sucks. And they are 2.5" collector and piping versus 3" on the pacesetter. I had the OBX on and noticed very significant gains on my 6.0 in the entire powerband. But I couldn't keep the stuff off my frame! My truck vibrated/noise like mad. So I order the pacesetters and Y. I'm not fond of the ceramic coating and slip on fit but I have to make sacrifices.

weld on collectors then. My coating is holding up great and I bought my set used and the collectors make unbolting the exhaust a breeze.

Yeah I'm thinking of taking it to an exhaust shop after I get it all in and have them fab up some flanges or something. I'm not too keen on using the supplied U bolts.

oops I meant flanges not collectors obviously. If you're worried about them sealing buy some vbands and go that route.

I was just talking about overall. Price and quality. I am really leaning toward the pacesetters just because a guy here in town has them and loves them too. I was just going to put them on and drive down to the muffler shop and have them do the rest. Thanks very much!
