Here is my truck and its intended purpose
01 RCSB 4x4 Silverado
4.8l, 3.73, locker
e-fans, exhaust, cold air intake
33" M/T tires
My truck is a daily driver with a fair amount seen off-road. My truck will rarely see the track if ever. I am sick of the lack of power down low (I know, I know its a 4.8..
)
I have searched all over and have a few questions to ask.
I have come to the conclusion that a converter would probably be the best mod to start out with.
Now I was thinking of a 3000 stall. Is that to high, not high enough??
Also I will be doing some towing, not lots, but I still might. What brand of converter would work for me?? Yank, TCI, Vig??
Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated..
Also I was wondering if I could put the stock heads/cam off of my car below? Will I gain anything or is the combustion chamber too big for a 4.8 with the 5.7 heads..
Thanks for the help everyone and happy motoring..

I think the Yank 3000 will let you tow as if you were stock. I think 3000 would be perfect for what you're looking for, I have a Vig 3200 and I love it. Drivability is not great but my truck isn't my daily driver, just for fun when I want to run an errand. In traffic is when it gets annoying.

i had problems too down low. didn't really feel the acceleration until the higher RPMs. so i got a yank3000 and what i difference. now i have too much response down low to break the tires loose if i wanted to. couldn't do that before. i like it though. i tow alot. works fine. no problems getting my 20ft bassboat around. just takes a bit more gas and rpm's to get the boat out of the launch ramp. drives great around town. best mod i did. make sure you have POSI
