Question Alternator charging problem

Hey Guys,

I have an 04 rcsb 2wd with 6.0 Whippled and E-fans.
I am running the 145amp alternator with the fans, it recently started
squealing so i replaced it with a new one. Now my Driver Info Center says the alt. is not charging and that i need to service the brake booster. also at the time same time my coolant temp gauge will not move off of 160 when my autotap says the temp is 185. my guess is the alt. is junk. What do u think?

Thanks Speed Freak

Hate to bring up an old thread...but I figured id put in my 2 cents...had the same issue...the main harness covered in 2'' loom has a branch off it heading toward the rear of the alternator...make sure it isnt pinched under the loom, thats what happened to me and it couldnt communicate with the pcm....check all the connections too, tighten the ground bolts good
