Default Air intake

I moded my airintake to make it like a K&N Cold Air and was wondering what you thought. I cut off all the extra tubbing and made it a stright pipe Also made the Air box fully open saved about 230 buck I think do you think it will work?

Aside from not having any pics, how in the heck or rather what in the heck are you using for an air filter? Since you've cut most of your box away I think I can safely assume that you're not using the stock one anymore.

Sorry I dont know how to post the pics but it is the stock box just kept the side where the tube goes in and cut out the top and big holes in the side.

A buddy of mine did the same air box mods you did and noticed a power drop. Since you have the programmer and the flowmaster did you notice any power loss? My buddy's truck is bone stock.

when i first got my truck, i dropped in a K&n filter, cut the baffles off my stock air tube and cut the bottom and front side of my stock air box off. I noticed a pick up in power. plus more intake noise. so as long as the air all goes through the filter first, you should be ok. you can still improve that without spending a lot of money, buy a 4" 90 degree tube, a 4" 45 degree tube and a 4" metal tube and make your own air tube and replace that factory tubing altogether.
